About Plantation Industries
Plantation Industries Limited is a Nigerian cocoa processor delivering premium cocoa ingredients to confectionery, beverage and nutraceutical manufacturers. C
Our Promise

PIL’s Akure facility is engineered for performance, food safety, and traceability. Processing begins with strict raw material and packaging reception protocols, followed by high-efficiency cleaning, winnowing and roasting designed to protect flavour, safety and consistency.
Upstream Controls: Cleaning, Destoning & Shell Reduction
Cleaning and separation begin at the tipping bay, where magnets remove metallic contaminants. The beans then pass through a three-stage cleaning system: air-shift pre-cleaning (dust and light impurities), mechanical cleaning (wood, cocoa-related matter and shrivelled beans), and destoning by weight. Infrared-assisted conditioning improves winnowing performance and reduces shell content to below 1.75%.
Thermal Processing: Roasting as a Validated Kill Step
Roasting is a critical control point. Precision hot-air convection roasters operate at 120°Cor higher for a validated residence time to drive flavour development and microbial safety. Parameters are monitored, recorded and verified under our FSSC22000-aligned FSMS.
